Paper Abstract:
|
Many people in Poland treat electronic banking with distrust. Concerns are aggravated by repetitive media information about crime related to payment cards and Internet banking. The purpose of this study was to verify what are users real concerns and knowledge about electronic banking security. The study confirmed that the holders of bank accounts believed that an Internet account was more at risk of theft than a traditional bank account and, moreover, that using payment cards was much more vulnerable than using online access to an account. However, their knowledge about risks and security measures associated with e-banking was very superficial, and their main sources of information about it were unreliable, including daily newspapers, television and Internet forums. |
